my first iPhone blog
My First iPhone blog (audio file)
I currently bought an iPhone as a birthday gift to myself and it has drastically improved my short-term memory. I say this because I can capture snippets of my life in real-time and recall upon them for reference or just sit back and re-live that moment.
Over the weekend I attended the opera for the first time. I witnessed Don Giovanni. He’s quite the ladies man who will pursue anything with skirt.
I also attended the American Museum of Natural History for a lecture and some documentary films, all of which are part of the issues on climate change.
The keynote speaker for the lecture was Paul T. Miller, aka DJ Spooky. He recentlly traveled to Antarctica to record all the different sounds like ice melting, wind curling around ice structures, and the sounds of, my personal favorite, the Emporer Pengiuns.
The films that I watched were The Last Days of the Shishmaref and Hair India. Both of there films were equally brilliant but the Shishmaref tribe struck a chord with me because these people are Americans who still live off the land as hunters and gathers. Sadly, their land is being consumed by the rising sea levels. The island of Shishmeref is located at the northern most tip of Alaska between the Bering Sea and the Chukchi Sea.
Along my time and journey through life in NYC I will document different events, things that catch my eye, or just something or someone that truely inspires me.
I will use this content in formation of my personal designs. I will begin my Fall 2010 Collection soon!
Thanks for taking the time to share these experiences with me.
Sincerely,
David D’Angelo Caldwell
